In SOT, we place great emphasis on the total character development of our students. We believe that though a man's gift may bring him to the top, it is his character that will keep him there. The rules and regulations established are meant to build discipline and integrity in the student's lives.

1. PUNCTUALITY
  1.1 Punctuality For Classes And Activities
    1.1.1 SOT student's clock-in time:
      Monday to Friday
      8.15 a.m.
For students who are on duty to do physical arrangement that week.
      8.45 a.m. For all remaining students who are NOT on duty.
    1.1.2
All late coming time will be recorded and accumulated. Each time a student accumulates 30 minutes of late coming time, he or she will be penalized to carry out a full-day area cleaning duty at the church premises.
    1.1.3
Consistent late coming will affect the student's eligibility for graduation as it reflects a lack of discipline and integrity in the student.
2. ATTENDANCE
  2.1 SOT Classes, Seminars And Other Activities
    2.1.1
All lectures are conducted at SOT Lecture Halls on the City Harvest Church premises.
    2.1.2
To graduate, students are required to attend at least 80% of all SOT classes, church-wide seminars, prayer meetings, cell group meetings and weekend services.
    2.1.3
Students are required to clock at least 3 hours of practical ministry every week. This will be assessed weekly by the respective Ministry Heads. Overall grades will be given at the end of every 8-week period.

    2.1.4
Students who need to be excused from any of the above activities due to sickness or any other emergencies are required to notify the Dean of Students or Student Liaison Officer personally via telephone at least 15 minutes before the session starts. Failure to do so will bring about disciplinary action.
    2.1.5
No one is allowed to leave class sessions during official school hours, except when permission is granted by the Dean of Students.
  2.2 Daily Area Cleaning
    2.2.1
Students are required to carry out area cleaning and physical arrangement in their Ministry Teams. This includes preparing the hall for lessons and cleaning up general areas like the lift lobby, café, toilets, etc.
    2.2.2
Area cleaning inspections will be conducted randomly by the SOT Staff in the mornings and afternoons. Grades will be given for team work and cleanliness. As such, those who are not working in the afternoons are encouraged to cover for their team mates who are working.
    2.2.3
Our attitude determines our altitude. All students will be assessed not only through academic performance, but also in their attitude and ability to work in a team.
  2.3 Mandarin/Japanese Translation And Wireless Headsets
    2.3.1
Weekday classes will be simultaneously translated into Mandarin, Japanese and Bahasa Indonesia.
    2.3.2
A set of earphones will be given free-of-charge to students who require translation. But students will be required to purchase subsequent sets should it be damaged or lost. Headsets can be obtained from the church Reception before seminars and weekend services.
  2.4 Medical Leave
    2.4.1
Students are allowed a maximum of 10 days medical leave, with authorized medical certification, during the course of the year. Exceptions to this will only be considered when a student suffers from a chronic or prolonged sickness as certified by a medical practitioner.
    2.4.2
Students on medical leave must submit their medical certificates promptly to the Student Liaison Officer on the day they return to school.
  2.5 Provisional Leave
    2.5.1
Students are only allowed to take provisional leave from school for the following reasons:
· Urgent family crises
· Non-negotiable work obligations
    2.5.2
Leave application will have to be submitted 1 week in advance with proper approval from the Dean of Students.
    2.5.3
Urgent leave is only permitted for emergency cases. Students will have to inform the Dean of Students via phone for approval. Students must promptly submit their provisional leave application forms on the day they return to school.
3. SCHOOL FEES
  3.1 Submission Of School Fees
    3.1.1
All students are to submit their school fees by the 5th DAY of every month at the counters set up during official school hours. (Cheques can be made payable to "City Harvest Church.")
    3.1.2
A total of 21 days in the accumulation of late payment throughout the 20 weeks of the course will result in automatic suspension from the entire program.
4. ASSIGNMENTS
  4.1 Handing In Of Assignments
    4.1.1
All assignments are to be handed in by the given deadlines. 3% of the total grade awarded will be deducted for each day of late submission.
  4.2 Usage Of Computers
    4.2.1
Students may choose to complete their assignments using computers or submit them neatly hand-written on A4 foolscap paper.
    4.2.2
Wireless Internet Facility
Students may make use of the wireless Internet facility available free of charge at the church premises.
    4.2.3
Internet Kiosks
There are 4 high-speed Internet Kiosks located at the Level 4 Café. Students who wish to serve the Internet may make use of this facility at S$2.00 per hour.

5. EXAMINATIONS
  5.1 Absent From Examinations
   
Students who are absent on any given examination day without a valid reason may not be given an alternative date for examination. Such students may not attain any marks for that portion of the course or the entire course itself. This will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Dean of Students.
  5.2 Re-Examinations
   
A re-examination may be conducted for students who fail in their first try for selected subjects. However, the highest attainable grade in any re-examination would just be the passing mark.
6. CONDUCT AND ATTIRE
  6.1 General Attire For Classes
    6.1.1 Monday to Friday
      Smart Casual: Polo-shirts and round-neck short-sleeved shirts are allowed. Full-length trousers (including jeans) with a belt, socks and shoes. No bermudas or capri pants (i.e. pants ending above the ankles), and sandals are allowed.
      Ladies: Full cosmetic make-up.
    6.1.2 Weekend Services and Conference Days
     
Dressing should be according to the service attire for that day.
     
The general rule of thumb is to look neat, smart, decent, proper, professional, presentable, and sharp in appearance and conduct!
  6.2 Hairdo
   
All male students are to sport short and neat styles. Coloring and having funky hairdos are acceptable. Men are expected to be cleanly shaven daily.
  6.3 Manhood And Courtesy
   
At all times, brothers are to exercise appropriate courtesy toward sisters. This includes opening doors for them, helping them to carry heavy things, using the appropriate tone of speech when speaking to them, and sending them home when it is late at night.
  6.4 Name Tags
    6.4.1
Students are required to put on their name-tags during all SOT and church-related activities while in the church premises, in the Suntec Administrative Office and conference venues. This is for the purpose of identification.
    6.4.2 Missing nametags must be replaced, and will cost S$15 each.
  6.5 General Conduct And Behavior
    6.5.1
Students are expected to set an example in their personal lifestyle that includes sexual purity, not being involved in questionable relationships, and freedom from vices such as alcoholism, drunkenness, smoking and substance abuse of any form.
    6.5.2
Students are to develop good relational habits, always seeking to demonstrate God's love to one another. Thus, they should not be found cursing, gossiping or slandering.
    6.5.3
In SOT, we strongly embrace the biblical virtues of integrity and honesty. Any student caught lying, cheating, extorting, being drunk, smoking, abusing drugs, or/and using profanities in their course of study, in or outside of church premises, will face immediate expulsion.
    6.5.4
Food and beverage consumption is prohibited during lessons. Only plain drinking water and mints are allowed. Due to Singapore law, no chewing gum is allowed.
    6.5.5
Students are to be respectful and polite toward the pastors and leadership appointed over them in SOT and in City Harvest Church. All students must address all pastors by their titles whenever they meet. Failure to do so will bring about disciplinary action.
