About SOT
Our Story
City Harvest Church (CHC) was founded on 7 May 1989, with a steadfast commitment to building a strong local church. The words of Jesus in Matthew 16:18 resonate deeply with our leadership and members: “On this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”
As the church grew, so did the burden to equip every member to be an effective minister of God.
As a Pentecostal church, CHC’s story is one of partnership with the Holy Spirit—to bring divine love, holiness, and power to our generation, drawing people into a life-transforming union with God. While not all are called into full-time ministry, our church firmly believes every Christian can serve the kingdom of God using their unique gifts and abilities (1 Peter 4:10). For this to happen, spiritual discovery and equipping are essential (Ephesians 4:11-13).

With this vision, on 18 January 1994, the City Harvest Bible Training Centre was established, later renamed City Harvest School of Theology (SOT). The charter class began with 29 students enrolled in a 12-month program. Even then, leadership believed that, by God’s grace, hundreds of students from around the world would be trained annually at SOT. Since its humble beginnings, SOT has graduated more than 8,800 students who serve globally as pastors, preachers, missionaries, elders, and church leaders in more than 500 churches across 40 countries. Many more shine as salt and light in the marketplace where God has placed them.
Decades later, we are even clearer about our divine call. As a Pentecostal institution, SOT champions Pentecostal beliefs, doctrines, and practices—especially in this region. The church is “the pillar and foundation of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15), and we aim to “guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to us” (2 Timothy 1:14, NLT).

Since 2023, we have collaborated with top Pentecostal theologians and professors worldwide to refine our Diploma of Ministry curriculum. In the same year, we launched an Associate Degree in Ministry course to further establish and strengthen core Pentecostal beliefs. In 2025, we introduced our Bachelor of Theology and Master of Arts programs, making SOT a full-fledged institution offering a range of accredited theological courses.
Our Mission and Purpose
SOT is committed to offering theological and practical training courses of quality comparable to internationally recognized standards. We equip students in doctrinal knowledge and practical ministry skills, aiming to educate, inspire, and maximise the potential of every student.
Founded in 1994 as a full-time Bible college, SOT exists to bring students into a deeper relationship with God and empower them with the scriptural knowledge and skills necessary for effective and anointed ministry, both inside and outside the local church. Our mission aligns closely with City Harvest Church’s vision:
“To build a church with a strong spiritual atmosphere of faith and purity, where every member is released into ministry, discipled in the Great Commandment, and obedient to the Great Commission and Cultural Mandate.”

What We Believe and Practice
God is raising strong churches worldwide to become the primary centers for discipleship and training in His Kingdom. At SOT, you will learn how faithfulness and teamwork within the local church are essential prerequisites for revival in any nation.
God is raising strong churches worldwide to become the primary centers for discipleship and training in His Kingdom. At SOT, you will learn how faithfulness and teamwork within the local church are essential prerequisites for revival in any nation. Following the Great Commission, Jesus’ command to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19), SOT seeks to inspire and equip students for world missions. Our students have opportunities to participate in mission trips, working alongside local churches to conduct evangelistic outreaches and proclaim the Gospel. At SOT, students learn from anointed lecturers who operate in the gifts of the Spirit and minister the life of the Spirit effectively. Prayer is foundational—not only taught but practiced regularly.
You will be immersed in an environment of faith, surrounded by believers who walk confidently in God’s power. Here, you will overcome personal and ministry challenges, developing a faith that grows and bears abundant fruit.
