International Students

We invite you to come and explore endless opportunities and nurture your calling in the School of Theology. Our graduates have pastored churches around the world, making a profound difference in their communities and beyond.

Immigration Matters

Valid Pass while in Singapore
All international students must hold a valid Student’s Pass issued by the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for their studies at SOT.

Student’s Pass holders are NOT ALLOWED to work in Singapore during their course of study. Students are strictly not allowed to engage in any form of employment, whether paid or unpaid. Unless he/she has a written consent from the Controller of Immigration, he/she is not allowed to be in any business, profession or occupation in Singapore during the validity of his/her Student’s Pass. Violators will be prosecuted by law.

Students are required to ensure that they remain in Singapore on a valid pass at all times. Please take note of the expiry dates of your Social Visit Pass and your Student’s Pass. Overstaying is a punishable offence under the Immigration Act.

After completion of SOT, if you wish to study in a different private education institution (PEI), you must apply for a new Student’s Pass online using the e-Service at least four weeks before your new course begins.

Student’s Pass Application
After you are offered a place in the Diploma of Ministry, SOT will process your Student’s Pass Application with ICA. You will then be issued the ‘Registration Acknowledgement Slip’ from ICA.

Arrival Pick-up Services

SOT will assist international students in arranging for arrival pick-up services from the airport/ferry/bus terminal to their place of accommodation.

Pick-up services are provided by SOT’s volunteers and they need ample time to make the necessary arrangements with their family and work place. As such, students who fail to give SOT advance notice may have to make their own arrangements for transportation.

Pick-up services will only be available from 9am to 6pm.

International students are strongly encouraged to book flights/ferry/bus arriving within this time frame. Students who arrive before or after the given time frame stated above can make their own arrangements for transportation to their accommodation.

Accommodation

SOT operates as a non-residential Bible college. Please ensure that you have secured your accommodation before your arrival in Singapore.

Getting Hostel Accommodation
Listed below are some hostels in Singapore. Students are required to liaise directly with the hostel for your accommodation.

Aside from the hostels listed above, students may source for other accommodation alternatives.
